shipping policy + faq

Where:

Shipping pottery is tricky business but I do my best to pack and ship pieces in the safest and most affordable way. At this time, I only ship to within Canada, but I hope this can change in the future once the pandemic restrictions are relaxed.

If you live in the Victoria area (or are traveling to Victoria soon) and can come by my studio to pick up your order, choose the 'Pick up' option in the checkout or use the discount code LOCAL250 and I will send you an email to coordinate a date and time for pickup. Due to social distancing measures, I will be doing curbside pickup rather than studio visits.

When:

I work full time on top of this pottery thing - this means that packing and shipping may take a few more days than someone who is in their studio full time in order to coordinate work with getting to the post office. On average, your order will be packed and shipped within 5 days of ordering.

Shipping times may vary. Once the parcel is within Canada Post's hands, I am not responsible for how long it may take for it to be delivered. However, if you have any questions or are hoping to receive the item by a certain date, please write me a note in the Order Notes section on the cart page or send me an email and I will do my best to make sure you have your order there in time.

How much:

Shipping costs are based on weight and size of the parcel.

What (or what not):

Unfortunately, due to plates' notorious ability to break in the mail, I cannot offer shipping of plates at the moment. This means that plates can only be picked up locally. That said, if you live outside of Victoria, BC and have your eye on some plates, send me an email and I can try to coordinate sending them with a friend or dropping them off myself once traveling restrictions are lifted. I cannot guarantee I can do this for all plate orders, but once in a while things can work out :)

Can I eat off of it:

Unless otherwise stated, all of my pieces are food safe and dishwasher safe.

It broke:

If your piece broke in the mail, please send a photo of it and your order number and I will make you a new one as quickly as I can at no charge + shipping.

If your piece broke because it accidentally slipped out of your hand or was wiped off the table by your golden retriever's tail (among other mishaps), send me a message and I can make a new one for you. Unfortunately I will have to charge for the new piece.

If your piece has any sort of production flaw, please email me as soon as you notice it and I will happily remake it for you (with adjustments to account for the flaw) at no charge. I trust that people are generally honest, and in turn I do everything I can to ensure my pieces pass my own quality assurance, but sometimes mistakes happen.

Custom orders and wholesale:

I happily do take custom orders. If you know exactly what you want, great! Send me an email and we can go from there. If you have an idea but aren't entirely sure how it'll work, that's also great! Send me an email and we can go from there. I will not outright copy another artist's work, but can use its essence as inspiration to create something unique and my own. If you are wanting something that is wildly out of my comfort or design zone, I will also happily send along a list of potter friends that may have what you're hoping for.

My custom order wait time is generally 2-3 months at the moment, but if you are needing something for a certain date, let me know in your request so I can be up front about whether I can get it done in time or not.

I take Christmas orders until the last week of September. I know it's early. I don't want to think about Christmas in August either, but I would rather be realistic and make sure you get your piece on time than leave you hanging on the 24th.
